I would like to see the Jets take a shot at signing Roy. The team needs to make a move to improve their offence |

I half expected a blank page when i clicked on the title...
I just want some proof that something is going on with the team. RFAs to sign, holes to fill and as usual, silence. |

This time of year always makes me nervous as a Winnipeger. You know it will be a rarity attracting a big ufa, and there is always the likelihood that we lose some of the ufa's we have. Oh well, c'est la vie, Go Jets Go! |

To be honest...as a season ticket holder I am really getting sick of Chevy's comments about a 5 year plan...and watching him sit on his hands during the frenzy.
Watching guys like ex leaf Wellwood and Poni made me sick last year.
There had better be movement...and soon! |

Missing out on the UFAs doens't even bother me. Some of the deals are ridiculous. But teams around us are getting better and i don't even have confidence that we'll get our RFAs signed. At this point, best case scenario seems like we'll be about the same team as last year with a couple young guys plugged in. I don't even want to think about worst case scenarios... |

And the Stars... Seguin and Benn... we'll be lucky if we're 2nd last in the division. Oh well, at least we have a team. |

Will Roy be the first guy that the MTS Centre crowd gets going with a chat at...I went to an Avs game during the 1st season, no one knew who to boo there, a bad Varly chant started as well, but died quickly |

You know...I'm so happy that we have one of the richest people in North America as our co-owner...now if he would only wake up his GM and tell him to stop sitting on his hands!!! |

And sign who? Iginla?
Get real. They have to worry about signing their RFAs and they know better than to waste expensive cell phone minutes calling guys who have no interest playing here. It's frustrating to see local fans freaking out about it. Just like anybody who has any experience in or around hockey has been saying for the last two years, big name players will come up through the draft or by trade only.
I'd much rather Chevy stay the hell away from 7 year deals worth 30+ million. Mind you, Lapierre for 1.1m would have been great but it would have taken much more to get him here.
We're not gonna spend big money and we're not LA, New York or Chicago. Unfortunately, we're in the bottom 3 (maybe bottom 1) of free agent destinations and that's how it'll be forever.
Expect nothing more than some late, bargain-bin type signings of desperate, Kyle Wellwood type guys. The only free agents who will land here are the ones who tried 29 other teams to no avail, or the guys like Bogosian who like hanging out in the bush in October. |

I won't be surprised if Dallas stinks all year. How often do teams do well after being ripped apart and thrown together with whatever the GM can get his hands on? You think Horcoff will be any better for the stars as a top 6 pivot than Jokenin has been for us? I can't see it.
Also, 21 year old super star centres don't get traded because they're amazing... |

Take iT easy. wouldn't go so far as to say the Stars were ripped apart... They traded Roy last year, Ericcson this year. Jäger was only there for a strike shortened season. Seguin is a natural centre, wasn't given the opportunity to show his full potential in Boston. At the same time, don't think anyone would say he can't play. In the Finals, there were 2 games where he looked like the best player on the ice. He might've enjoyed himself too much in Boston... But so did Carter and Richards in Philly... Then they won a Cup in LA.
Wasn't being sarcastic with 'at least we have a team', I love the Jets. Just think we should be realistic given the new division and the calibre of talent on the teams in our new division.
I think the Gootch trade was awesome... Excited we might have two solid and consistent scoring lines... Hoping for the best, but being realistic. |
